Substance Abuse Services Supervisor - Kalamazoo

Description: 

Supervise operation of an effective, recovery-oriented Substance Abuse Services program for persons with co-occurring disorders that meets applicable evidence based practice standards.

Responsibilities: 

Provide direct services that assist individuals to meet their co-occurring treatment goals and meet applicable standards.

Develop, follow, and respect individuals’ person-centered treatment plans.

Comply with procedures, standards and policies for agency operations, including Code of Ethics.  Demonstrate flexibility to adjust with the agency as it adapts to current and future needs.

Requirements: 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or any to allow for required credentials

  • LMSW or LPC required

  • CCS-M supervisory credential preferred – Ability to obtain a CCS-M development plan required

  • Minimum two (2) years direct‑service experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness and substance abuse treatment required

  • Specialized co-occurring substance abuse training preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Knowledge of quality performance requirements preferred

  • Life experiences, knowledge and education in diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, including experience with behavioral health issues preferred

  • Support of trauma-informed culture of safety to aid persons served in their recovery process required

  • Effective communication, motivation, and negotiation skills; and excellent organizational skills required

  • Valid Michigan driver's license and a vehicle to transport required

  • Ability to perform work in community settings which may not be barrier-free required
