DBT Therapist - Kalamazoo

DBT - Kalamazoo
  • Provide direct services to participants including individual and group DBT therapy and skills training sessions to assigned caseload.

  • Develop, follow and respect individuals' person-centered treatment plans according to DCH and KCMHSAS standards which includes psychosocial assessments for primary caseload.

  • Complete progress notes for each service related activity and routinely gather feedback from those served.

  • Resolve crisis situations such as direct calls from participants during work hours, and for consultation during non- working hours (on-call), back‑up other therapists.

  • Coordinate with community, KCMHS, and other systems that impact individuals served.

  • Coordinate medication services with assigned Psychiatrist.

  • Participate in personal and professional growth activities, attend all required trainings participate in other specific trainings as identified by the DBT Services Supervisor to address personal performance objectives. Meet weekly with Supervisor and other DBT staff for peer consultation and training



  1. Master’s degree and LMSW required

  2. Formal training in DBT required

  3. Minimum of one year previous experience providing individual and group therapy, previous experience providing DBT is a plus
