Navigate Individual Resiliency Trainer/Therapist (IRT) - Kent

Description: 

Provide effective, recovery-oriented services to Navigate participants.

Provide direct services to individuals and their family members, as needed.

Assure completion of clinical documentation according to agency guidelines and timeframes.

Responsibilities: 

Participate in all required Navigate trainings and consultations.

Actively participate in weekly Navigate meetings.

Assess mental health, substance use, and other status of persons served during contacts and make stage specific treatment recommendations to assist in meeting their goals.

Utilize outreach and engagement strategies to elicit individuals’ commitment to actively participate in treatment.  

Provide education and support to family members, significant others, and community representatives to create a recovery network for persons served.

Ensure the safety of persons served and personnel supervised through the implementation of the agency's safety and training plans.

Conduct psychosocial assessments.

Provide individual resiliency training utilizing Navigate curriculum.

Provide case management services as part of the Navigate team.  Assure individuals basic needs are met including income, housing, food, health, resource applications are completed, and benefits obtained or maintained as needed. 

Provide effective services utilizing Navigate core competencies:  shared decision-making; strengths and resiliency focus; motivational enhancement strengths; psychoeducational teaching skills; cognitive-behavioral teaching skills; and collaboration with natural supports.

Assist with back-up coverage for Supervisor related to referrals and crisis contacts.

Requirements: 

A Master's degree (LMSW) and a minimum one-year direct experience serving individuals that have experienced psychosis. Experience with the 15-30-year-old population preferred. Current license to practice/certification for third party reimbursement. Excellent written and verbal communication, motivation, and negotiation skills required. Organizational and problem-solving skills a must. Valid Michigan driver’s license and a vehicle to transport. Ability to perform work in community settings which may not be barrier-free.  Knowledgeable about and supportive of culturally competent, recovery and trauma-informed practices.  Lived experiences with behavioral health issues are welcomed.
