Substance Abuse Services is seeking a full-time or part-time Peer Recovery Coach. This position is a member of an IDDT (Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment) team.  It is an outreach-focused position and will spend time in the community identifying individuals who can benefit from receiving substance abuse treatment, linking those individuals with treatment, co-facilitating treatment groups, case management activities and intake/engagement activities.   

  • Provide effective recovery-oriented services to individuals with co-occurring disorders utilizing agency endorsed materials.
  • Provide outreach services to encourage persons served to understand their health care needs and obtain services to meet their personal goals.
  • Coordinate service activities with SA Services and other InterAct staff.
  • High school diploma or certified GED
  • Peer Recovery Coach certification required.
  • CPRM (Certified Peer Recovery Mentor) credential preferred.
  • Interest in working with individuals with co-occurring disorders to help them achieve recovery
  • Good communication, motivation, negotiation skills, organizational ability, time-management, and problem-solving skills   
  • Previous experience working with people who have co-occurring disorder of substance use and mental health issues
  • Valid Michigan’s driver’s license and a vehicle to transport required.
