Substance Abuse Services is seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Coach. This position is an outreach-focused position and will spend a majority of their time in the community identifying individuals that can benefit from receiving substance abuse treatment and linking those individuals with treatment.

  1. Provide effective recovery-oriented services to individuals with co-occurring disorders utilizing agency endorsed materials.


  2. Provide outreach services to encourage individuals to understand their health care needs and obtain services to meet their personal goals.


  3. Coordinate service activities with SA Services and other InterAct staff.


  4. Assure completion of documentation and data collection in a manner that meets program requirements. 

    • High school diploma or certified GED
    • Experience as a recipient of public mental health and/or substance abuse services who has achieved a level of recovery consistent with performance of the job duties including personal sobriety and illness management
    • Interest in working with individuals with co-occurring disorders to help them achieve recovery
    • Excellent communication, motivation, negotiation skills, organizational ability, time-management, and problem-solving skills   


Must have credentials required for third-party substance abuse services billing; Recovery Coach or Certified Peer Recovery Mentor-Michigan (CPRM-M) preferred. Valid Michigan’s driver’s license and a vehicle to transport required.
