Provide effective, recovery-based supported employment/individual placement and support services services as part of fidelity based Supported Employment

Services team.


Participate actively in SE team meetings to enhance understanding of supported employment fidelity standards, the seven core principles, vocational generalist role, team and individual case assignments.

Contact potential employers and develop jobs that meet varied individual’s needs in competitive community-based work settings.

Provide and coordinate job coaching with other SE staff to promote retention of employment.

Participate flexibly in the team schedule to accommodate the needs and work hours of persons served and address shared duties such as drop-in. 

Utilize outreach and engagement strategies to elicit individuals’ commitment to actively participate in program services.

Assure completion of required personal and SE outcomes.

Maintain regular contacts with assigned clinical team(s) to ensure integration of employment and mental health services for mutually served individuals, to encourage referrals, and arrange 1:1 contacts as needed.


Minimum Requirements:  Bachelors degree and experience working with the target population preferred.  Background in vocational, mental health, or related human service field preferred.  Employment Training Specialist certification preferred.  Good communication and negotiation, organizational ability, and problem-solving skills.  Valid Michigan driver’s license and a vehicle to transport.  Ability to perform work in community settings which may not be barrier-free.  Knowledgeable about and supportive of culturally competent, recovery and trauma-informed practices.
