Substance Abuse Services Program Receives High Rating

InterAct has provided outpatient treatment for people with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse services as part of a licensed program in Michigan since 2001.  In order to assure services meet evidence-based standards for effective treatment of people with these complex needs, the Substance Abuse Services program was reviewed by the Michigan Fidelity Assessment and Support Team (MIFAST) in November 2015 according to Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) standards.  The reviewers were impressed with the range of stage-based services offered to match the stages of change of persons served, the extensive case coordination services, and the compassion of the SAS team.  MIFAST reviewers Jennifer Harrison and Kris Steffen stated:  “If we had a family member who needed IDDT services in Michigan, we would want them to be served by this team.  The team is willing to be beside clients on a whenever, wherever, however basis; yet are still empowering.  Clients can access a variety of groups and wellness services, as well as highly specialized individual therapies.  These services are in fact highly utilized, which is why the team is so busy.  Yet despite this pace, there is a clear interest in each person’s unique recovery journey, and not giving up on them.  This is a team that works well together, within their agency, and with their clients.  It is impressive to watch them in action.”  Congratulations to the entire SAS team led by Supervisor Jessica Robb and Clinical Director Stephanie Lagalo for achieving this high rating.
